The Group's insurance company underwent a phase of growth and consolidation in 2000. Aseguradora Interacciones wrote premiums of 904 million pesos, 71% more than in 1999.

.
As in the two preceding years, the company obtained positive results.

The growth was fueled by the small- and medium-sized company segment and personal insurance lines, in keeping with the institution's general goals and strategies.

Beginning in the second half of the year, we began to buttress operations in northern Mexico, restructuring the Monterrey Office in order to make it into a regional headquarters.

As in the two previous fiscal years, Aseguradora Interacciones turned in positive results in 2000, obtaining technical revenues of 46 million pesos and net income of 17.6 million pesos, the product of prudent underwriting and a satisfactory handling of claims. These are extremely positive results, because at the same time we laid a solid base for future revenues by significantly expanding our ongoing risk reserves.

Like the brokerage firm and the bank, Aseguradora Interacciones continues its efforts to position itself as a company known for its use of technological resources. Substantial progress was made toward developing a comprehensive system to manage the company, which includes improvements in underwriting and policy issues and in our claim processing. All of this is intended to benefit our increasingly broad customer base.
